And there are few stars who’ve grown alongside us like Joey Lawrence — that toe-headed, mop-topped breakout from Gimme a Break! (a trailblazing sitcom in its own right), who went on to become a Teen Beat poster boy in Blossom and full-on grown-up heartthrob ever since (kind of like our host, Marke).
Now, the Lawrence Brothers — Joey, Matt, and Andrew — are returning to the spotlight with a brand-new comic book adventure that’s as self-aware as it is surreal:

Appearing live at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, the brothers will be joined by co-writers The Berkowitz Brothers (Josh Gad’s The Writer) and comics artist Sean Von Gorman (The Pedestrian) to dish on fame, family, and why now is the perfect time to kick off their next great era — in graphic novel form.
Moderated by Ryan J. Downey (MTV News, Billboard), this panel promises laughs, nostalgia, and plenty of “whoa.”

Now they are teaming with The Berkowitz Brothers, Sean Von Gormanand Z2 to bring fans The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency, an original graphic novel series, launching on Kickstarter, July 24th, 2025.

Co-Created and written by The Lawrence Brothers (Joey, Matt and Andrew) and the Berkowitz Brothers (Josh Gad’s The Writer) with additional writing from Brian Yuran and art by Eisner-nominated Sean Von Gorman, of Comics, this darkly funny graphic novel reimagines former child stars Joey, Matthew, and Andrew Lawrence as reluctant heroes battling a conspiracy that’s warping the very fabric of fame. Set against the surreal backdrop of a corrupted Hollywood, The Lawrence Brothers Detective Agency follows the brothers as they survive a monster outbreak at Comic-Con, uncover a nostalgia prison run by AI, and infiltrate a secret cult rewriting entertainment history. Filled with sibling rivalry and faded celebrity, this is a satirical fever dream about identity, memory, and the absurdity of pop culture. Think BoJack Horseman meets Chinatown. Smart, surreal, and completely not what anyone expected… and that’s exactly the point.
