Episode 132: Just REACHER with Alan Ritchson and Lee Child

Broadcast PrimeTime Debut Thursday Feb 29, 2024 7:00pm PT

Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week, we talk Reacher with creator and author Lee Child and two interviews with “Jack Reacher” himself, Alan Ritchson (Smallville, Mountain State)

Once “Jack Reacher” gets off a Greyhound bus in the fictional town of Margrave, Georgia in Lee Child’s 1997 novel Killing Floor, we knew we were in for a hero unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Built like a Michelangelo stone sculpture “Reacher” is a drifter, roaming the United States taking old jobs and consistently finding himself in dangerous situations. He is a caring, funny, fair, skilled, witty kind soul always ready to help a person in need and do what’s right even if that means flexing his massive muscle and deadly military training to fight for truth and justice that’s not always “the American Way”. What sets “Reacher” apart from other mercenaries is that his “particular set of skills” are not for hire our country. “Reacher” is selfless, with no payment or reward for his good works. Image a hero with no possessions, or religion, our county and what you have is a hero the heavenly John Lennon himself would be proud of and fans of the series will celebrate.

And celebrate we will!

Join Dan “Grim” Shea, Marke., and the “Retro Cool Nerd” Jimmy Leszczynski with Bleeding Cool Nerd to talk 28 novels, two Tom Cruise movies, two hit Amazon series seasons, and two Alan Ritchson interviews all about one of Lee Child’s most endearing characters… JACKED REACHER!
