ElectricNOW’s May Lineup Gets the Saturday Morning Treatment

Free TV, Big Adventure, and a Bowl Full of Weird: ElectricNOW’s May Lineup Gets the Saturday Morning Treatment

Remember when discovering something awesome on TV didn’t require three subscriptions, two passwords, and a blood oath? You just turned on the set, grabbed a spoon, and let the magic happen.

That spirit is alive and well as Electric Entertainment’s free streaming service ElectricNOW rolls into May with a fresh upgrade, expanded programming, enhanced features, and more than 60 free live channels.

Free channels? Genre shows? Strange adventures? Folks, that’s cereal-worthy.

The May Menu Looks Like a Proper Saturday Spread

Wizards vs. Aliens

A young wizard battling aliens who literally consume magic? That sounds like the kind of premise that would have had us glued to the screen between bites of chocolate puffs. It’s part fantasy quest, part sci-fi showdown, and exactly the kind of imagination-fueled chaos we celebrate around here.

Generation Z

A zombie outbreak meets teen survival comedy? That’s the kind of wild tonal swing old-school channel surfers lived for. Funny, weird, slightly dangerous, and impossible to ignore.

The Messenger

An ordinary guy receives mysterious messages through playing cards and becomes an unlikely hero. That’s got classic “average person pulled into extraordinary destiny” energy. Somewhere between comic book intrigue and after-school mystery.

The Ark Seasons 1 & 2

Created by our longtime friend of the show Dean Devlin — who joined us back in 2018 during WonderCon 2018 to discuss Bad Samaritan — this SYFY survival drama follows a damaged spacecraft fighting to preserve humanity’s future. Devlin has always known how to blend big-concept spectacle with character-driven stakes, from blockbuster classics to cult-favorite television. High stakes, deep space, and a creator who truly loves genre storytelling? Pour another bowl.

Why This Feels Like Saturday Morning

Back in the day, TV wasn’t divided into “prestige content” and “background noise.” You got sci-fi, fantasy, monsters, comedy, heroes, and total nonsense all in one sitting. That unpredictable mix made mornings magical.

ElectricNOW seems to understand that assignment.

A wizard fights aliens. Teens dodge zombies. Playing cards predict destiny. Humanity hangs by a thread in space.

That’s not a content strategy. That’s a variety pack.

Final Pour

If you miss the days when television could surprise you before noon, this May lineup might be worth a spin. It’s free, it’s weird, and it sounds like it was programmed by someone who grew up loving the same glorious chaos we did.

Now if they’ll excuse us, we’re checking the pantry for one more bowl.

ELECTRICNOW’S NEW POWERED-UP APP UNLEASHES

“WIZARDS VS. ALIENS” AS PART OF AN ACTION-PACKED MAY STREAMING LINEUP

Los Angeles, CA – April 29, 2026 – Fresh on the heels of ElectricNow (ENOW)’s major platform upgrade—featuring enhanced functionality, expanded programming, and more than 60 free LIVE channels—the service is unveiling a dynamic slate of content for May. Leading the lineup is the premiere of “Wizards vs. Aliens,” a fantasy adventure following a young wizard battling magic-eating extraterrestrials. Also joining the platform is “Generation Z,” a darkly comedic series centered on a group of teens navigating a zombie outbreak, and “The Messenger,” a gripping drama about an ordinary man who becomes an unlikely hero after receiving mysterious messages through playing cards. Finally, rounding out the month, fans of Electric Entertainment’s SYFY original “The Ark” can now stream Seasons 1 & 2 of Dean Devlin’s sci-fi survival drama set aboard a damaged spacecraft fighting to preserve humanity’s future.

A brief summary of each of the titles is below:

Wizards vs. Aliens

Co-created by Russell T. Davies, best known for his work on “Doctor Who,” this family-friendly sci-fi adventure fantasy follows Tom Clarke, an ordinary, popular 16-year-old with an extraordinary secret. Tom is a wizard, trained by his family, who uses spells that make his life easier. But his secret life is upended when the Nekross, a magic-consuming alien race, invades Earth with the mission to drain the world of all magic. Teaming up with his best friend Benny, the school geek and science genius, Tom must face the powerful Nekross King in a high-stakes battle to protect humanity. Davies brings a similar sense of adventure and imaginative storytelling to this series as he did for “Doctor Who.”

“Generation Z” and “The Messenger”

Set in the quiet town of Dambury, the darkly comedic “Generation Z” erupts into chaos when a chemical leak from an overturned army truck outside a care home unleashes a grotesque apocalypse, turning elderly residents into flesh-hungry predators. As the infection spreads, a group of teenagers—Charlie, Kelly, Steff, and Finn—are thrust into a nightmare when one of their own grandmothers is among the first to turn. Forced to fight for survival, they must navigate fractured relationships, buried secrets, and the terrifying truth behind the deadly spill before it consumes everything in its path.

The Messenger” is a gripping drama centered on Ed Kennedy, an ordinary taxi driver whose life is upended after he unexpectedly foils a robbery and becomes an unlikely hero. The very next day, he begins receiving cryptic messages hidden within playing cards—each one directing him toward a new, mysterious task. As Ed follows the cards’ increasingly complex and morally charged instructions, he is pulled into a transformative journey that challenges his purpose, tests his limits, and reveals a deeper force guiding his every move.

The Ark S1 and S2

The original SYFY hit TV-series, “The Ark” is set 100 years in the future. Planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The remaining crew of the first of these missions, aboard a spacecraft called Ark One, encountered a catastrophic event, causing massive destruction and loss of life. With resources dwindling and tensions rising, the crew must become the best versions of themselves to survive and determine humanity’s future.
