The animated adaption of an iconic graphic novel has found its villain. Mark Hamill, probably best known for gallivanting in a galaxy far, far away, will voice The Joker in Batman: The Killing Joke.
The one-shot DC Comics epic was written by Alan Moore (Watchmen, V For Vendetta) and released in 1988. It climbed the New York Times bestseller list and is widely considered to be Bat-royalty.
Hamill first voiced The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series which ran from 1992 to 1995. He’d reprise the roll in other Batman projects, including video games and direct-to-video animated films.
DC Comics have released a steady stream of highly enjoyable animated films the past few years. If you get a chance, check out Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Justice League: Doom, and/or Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Definitely worth your time. Their live-action films should take a cue.
