From Jeff Peisch, Senior VP, Entertainment Programming & Marketing, Time Life
We’re all deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Don Rickles, an incomparable and beloved part of the Time Life family.
Over the past several years, we were incredibly fortunate to have forged a relationship with the legendary “Mr. Warmth” on projects such as his ’70s-era Navy sitcom “CPO Sharkey” and “The Dean Martin Roasts,” which saw him at the peak of his powers.
Hollywood royalty in every way, Don harkened back to a time before social media, when celebrities hit it big because of talent, not Twitter. From “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and his many uproarious TV specials, to his turn as Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story trilogy, Don’s singular approach to comedy – and life – always shined through.
We cherish the time we spent with him, and our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.
