Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. Join us as we talk to writer director Enid Zentelis about her new movie Bottled Up, available now on iTunes, Amazon, VOD, and theaters in select cities. We also fail to solve the gender equality debate in Hollywood, but not for lack of effort from our other guests Dan Casey (associate editor of Nerdist News), Dean Haglund (The X-Files, The Ladykillers), and Jacqui Holland (Silent But Deadly, My Best Friend’s Girl).

A single mother (Fay/Leo) lives with her adult daughter (Sylvie/Ireland) who many months after a car accident, still continues to complain of back pain. After refusing physical therapy, it becomes clear to everyone but Fay that her daughter is addicted to pain killers. When an earnest environmentalist (Becket/Hamilton) moves to town, Fay quickly befriends him, hoping that he will be the solution to Sylvie’s problems.
As Becket finds himself further intertwined in their lives, he inadvertently helps Faye realize the depth of her daughter’s problem. Before too long Fay’s hand is forced, and she must decide whether to protect her daughter or find the happiness that she has long denied herself.
