Yes, that’s right. Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning as the crazy Cimmerian himself, Conan the m-fing Barbarian! This movie has been in the vaguely-believable section of the rumor mill for a while now (in fact, don’t count on that summer 2014 release date anymore), but according to IGN things are finally starting to look close to solid. Hardcore fans of the original Conan character from Robert E. Howard’s longstanding comic series will be pleased to know that both the recent reboot AND the less than stellar Conan The Destroyer films will be flat out ignored. This leaves the story as a direct spiritual successor the Guv’s original 1982 Conan The Barbarian, which many fans feel was the only worthwhile Hollywood outing for the warrior king. I am one of those fans, and I am apparently not alone. Oh, and anyone who is shaking their head saying Ahnold is just too old to don the loincloth again, go stuff your complaints in an Indiana-Jones-sized sack.
In the meantime, you can keep up with the Hyborian Age with Fred Van Lente’s Dark Horse Conan series.
